The Getting the Love You Want Couples Workshop is an internationally recognised, two-day experience designed to help couples understand their patterns, communicate more clearly, and feel truly connected again.
Through practical, proven tools, couples learn how to reduce conflict, rebuild trust, deepen intimacy, and bring more romance and ease back into their relationship.
This weekend workshop is based on the work of relationship therapist Harville Hendrix and has been delivered to couples worldwide for decades. Across two days, you’ll be guided through a proven framework that helps you understand why you chose each other, why certain conflicts repeat, and what actually helps relationships thrive long term.
The workshop blends short teaching sessions with practical, hands-on exercises. Please note that this is NOT group therapy and there will be no sitting around in small groups sharing about your relationship. Your ‘group’ is with your partner. You’ll work privately with your partner in a safe, structured, and supportive environment and there is no requirement to share personal details with the group.
This workshop is for couples at any stage of their relationship, whether you’re laying strong foundations, wanting to deepen an already positive connection, or finding yourselves stuck in the same conflicts or emotional distance, or in crisis and separated, looking to try again to see if you can make things work. It’s especially supportive for couples navigating life transitions such as parenting, empty nest, peri/menopause, retirement, medical issues, grief, trust breaches, or big changes that have shifted how you relate to each other.
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Many couples attend simply because they want to communicate better, feel closer, and bring more ease, trust, and romance back into their relationship.
By the end of the weekend, most couples leave with a clearer understanding of what long-term relationships actually need to thrive. You’ll gain practical tools to interrupt old patterns, communicate without escalation, and express frustrations, needs, and desires in ways that feel safe and constructive for both of you.
Many couples also walk away with a shared framework for rebuilding trust, intimacy, and romance, along with a renewed sense of possibility and a clear path forward together. While the workshop is relationship education rather than therapy, it’s often described as a deeply healing and transformative experience.

Working with Nicole as a couples coach after attending a workshop gives you practical, evidence-based guidance for applying the newly learned skills in a safe and supportive environment.
With over 28 years’ experience, Nicole helps couples navigate conflict, strengthen communication, and reconnect with each other.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, rebuilding trust, or navigating life transitions, working together can help you feel understood, supported, and more confident in your relationship.
Nicole’s approach is different from traditional couples counselling. Rather than rehashing old conflicts or leaving you feeling frustrated between sessions, she provides a clear framework and practical tools that help both partners immediately feel understood and engaged from the start. Her sessions are collaborative, grounded in evidence-based psychology, and tailored to your unique relationship. Couples often notice relief and a renewed sense of connection after even the first session.
Nicole recommends attending the Getting the Love You Want workshop before starting couples therapy whenever possible. This two-day experience gives couples a shared foundation, practical tools, and a clear framework for communication and connection. Couples who attend the workshop often find therapy more effective, progress faster, and experience less tension between sessions, giving both partners a head start on strengthening their relationship.
Choosing the right person to work with matters. Every psychologist has their own style, and it’s important to find someone who understands your relationship dynamics and feels like a good fit for both of you.
If you’re considering couples therapy or simply unsure where to start, Nicole offers one-off Zoom or in-person consultations designed to help you gain clarity before committing to ongoing work.

Both options are low-pressure and focused on helping you understand your situation, your options, and whether working together feels right.
